南威爾士大學（University of South Wales），成立于2013年。2012年位于威爾士的紐波特 （Newport）和格拉摩根（Glamorgan）正式宣布，將綜合2地的資源，于南威爾士當地開發一所創新型態的高等教育學校。其后并于2013年合并2所當地的大學: 格拉摩根大學 （University of Glamorgan）和威爾士紐波特大學（University of Wales, Newport），成立了南威爾士大學（University of South Wales）。此大學的校園為英國校園占地廣大之大學前10名，亦是威爾士當地學生人數最多的大學（約33500位學生），并招收來自60多個國家的學生，每年平均擁有4500名海外學生，是英國少數華人較少的學校，為國內學生提供了一個國際化的環境。學校在教學上特別注重學生能力的培養，以利未來職場上的發揮，本校的畢業生就業率高達93%。格拉摩根大學（University of Glamorgan）源于1913年所成立的位于南威爾士蒙默思郡的礦業學院，于1992年獲得獨立的格拉摩根大學頭銜。學校的商務研究、礦業勘測、電子電力工程、會計與金融等多個專業教學質量獲評優秀。威爾士紐波特大學（University of Wales, Newport）的前身是一所技術性學校，專門培養專業的技術人員，合并了卡瑞里昂教育學校、紐波特藝術設計學校和吉文技術學校，于1992年正式賦予大學頭銜，并于2004年確認 “威爾士紐波特大學” 此名稱。大學的藝術學院于當地相當出名，學院的學生深獲當地企業青睞。綜合了2所學校的優點，南威爾士大學擁有自己的電影學院、攝影學院、動畫專業技術、廣播工作室、名聲享譽的劇場設計；畢業學生包括得獎的詩人、編劇和作者等。學校和當地相關企業有著緊密的合作關系，提供研究和實習機會，如：英國航空、電子科技、Sony、NHS、BBC等。因其專業研究領域，此大學為威爾士前五大知名大學之一，其研究領域包含: 可持續能源、教育發展、創意產業、企業創新、運動傷害等。于2007年起，畢業于威爾士皇家音樂與戲劇學院（Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama）的學生亦授予南威爾士大學的學位。排名Times 英國大學2017排名：115學校設施南威爾士大學投資大量資金用于現代化的設施建設，提供了學生與教職員一個舒適的讀書與教學環境。校園里有許多良好的讀書空間，學習中心分別位在校內三個不同的地方，提供學生與教職員高質量的圖書館、信息與數字服務，全天開放，供學生閱讀數據、欣賞音樂和電影；對學生全面開放酒吧、餐廳、新穎的咖啡廳以及 Party 房和一流的信息器材與運動設備。大學擁有優質的運動中心，每個禮拜都有校內球隊與英國大學聯盟（BUSA）的球隊比賽。經常有職業球隊到大學作訓練：Welsh 國際足球隊、Cardiff FC、Cardiff Blues、South Africa、All Blacks 等橄欖球隊。近幾年學校的運動水平提高，積極培養學生在空手道、英式橄欖球、足球、高爾夫球、曲棍球、籃球等領域，許多球隊在國內外亦有優異的表現。南威爾士大學有5個校區：Treforest Campus 翠佛瑞校區：主校區，亦為學校最大的校區，四周圍繞著綠色的山丘，大部分的學院和部門均設在此處，距離卡迪夫（Cardiff）僅20分鐘車程，大眾交通工具（地鐵、公交車）都相當便利，為物價低廉的學生城。Glyntaff Campus 格林塔夫校區：距翠佛瑞校區步行約10分鐘，校內有許多紅磚建筑，為生命科學和教育學院的所在地，護理、運動科學等課程亦在此處上課。Cardiff Campus 卡迪夫校區：于2007年成立，位于威爾士首府卡迪夫市中心，主要教學大樓為 “ATRiuM Building”，為創意產業學院所在地，其學院中一些專業課程于Atlantic House授課；主修時尚的學生則于 Cromwell House 授課，校區靠近卡迪夫皇后街火車站，交通相當便利。Caerleon Campus 卡瑞里昂校區: 位于威爾士紐波特北部的郊區，為攝影學院和教師訓練課程的所在地。Newport City Campus 紐波特校區: 位于威爾士的阿斯克河（River Usk）西面，斥資三百五十萬英鎊所打造的校區，于2011年正式啟用。課程介紹南威爾士大學以能夠提供多樣性和不同水平的專業課程而自豪。校內的國際英語中心也提供不同的英語課程以協助國際學生提升英語能力。所有的課程都接受英國質量保障局（QAA）
